We work with lots of companies that are invested in their communities, but a few of our clients embrace giving back in a way that goes above and beyond. According to this year’s Houston Business Journal Corporate Philanthropy Awards (and what we’ve seen for ourselves), LyondellBasell is one of those. This approach to changing lives (both on the individual and the global scale) is one that we at APP believe is the key to making the world a different and better place.

We’d like to congratulate them on this award, and on behalf of all of Houston, thank them for their many contributions to the greater Houston community throughout 2017. Their emphasis on working together to achieve change—and their encouragement of their employees to get involved in community initiatives—is one that resonates deeply with us.

Awards data was based on numbers provided by United Way of Greater Houston, revealing LyondellBasell’s position as #9 among large companies ranked by corporate giving. Their donations, totaling $1,713,068, ensured their position on this list, and their position as one of Houston’s most involved, community-minded businesses. We invite you to visit their philanthropy page to learn more about their corporate giving philosophy, and their commitment to making a “positive, global impact through community investment initiatives.”

Awards and recognition for giving are extremely important—but we know that LyondellBasell doesn’t contribute on the scale they do in order to receive awards. They give in order to make a difference, balancing strategy and decency in order to provide what’s most needed, for the largest number of people possible. LyondellBasell’s 5,422 employees are building an impressive body of work, one that’s changing lives all over Houston and around the world.
